FAQs
What is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the ‘gentle art,’ empowers individuals of all sizes to defend themselves effectively. Rather than relying on brute strength, BJJ utilizes leverage, technique, and an understanding of human anatomy to neutralize opponents through precise holds, locks, and throws. This approach fosters self-confidence, reduces stress, and sharpens mental focus.

Our expert team will guide you through a gradual, progressive plan, ensuring you adapt comfortably and achieve your fitness goals as you advance in your Jiu-Jitsu journey.
Am I too old to train?
Our diverse student body spans all ages, from young children to seasoned adults, each pursuing unique goals. Whether you’re 7 or 89, our tailored classes and programs deliver results, fostering a dynamic and enjoyable learning experience for everyone.
What’s a typical class like?
Our classes begin with a dynamic warm-up of calisthenics and stretching, preparing your body for the training ahead. We then transition into focused technique drills, building crucial muscle memory and solidifying your understanding of each movement. The session culminates in ‘rolling,’ or sparring, where you apply your skills against resisting partners. This realistic practice provides invaluable experience, bridging the gap between technique and practical application.
Do I have to compete?
Competition is encouraged for those who wish to do so but it is NOT a requirement. While there are many positive reasons for competing in tournaments, you will never be forced. However, over the years we have noticed that students who compete make huge improvements in their BJJ.
